Volunteer
Addison has an active parent community that is engaged in helping the school throughout the year. There are many ways to get involved, from one time events to on-going leadership opportunities. Below is a list of just some of the needs and opportunities. Let us know how you'd like to be involved by completing the volunteer form here.
PTA Coordinator Positions:
__ Grade Level Class Picnic Coordinators – we need one per grade
School Hours Volunteer Opportunities:
On-going or repeating events:
__ Lice Screening (3x yearly)
__ Noon Science – Held once/month during lunch
__ Noon Art – held once/month during lunch
__ Library- help your child’s class in the library by checking in and out books or volunteer to monitor the library at lunchtime
__ Lifeskills- Help plan and execute activities to reinforce Addison’s 10 essential values (one per month).
__ Recess and lunch volunteer
__ On call volunteer to help out in a pinch
One-time events (assisting the coordinator in planning and executing the event):
__ Vision Screening
__ Hearing Screening
__ Fall Book Fair (various times during the school day & after school over three days)
__ Halloween Breakfast (morning)
__ Bike Rodeo (in October) (grade 3 only)
__ Jump Rope For Heart–help coordinate during lunchtime
__ Teacher Appreciation Luncheon (in May)
__ Stone Soup, (in the Spring) - Help children prepare soup for teachers
__ Field Day (in June)
Non - School Hours Volunteer Opportunities:

__ Helping Hands – provide meals to families during times if crisis (death, illness, etc.)
__ Family Buddy Program: Pair up with a new Addison family to help with the transition
One-time events (assisting the coordinator in planning and executing the event):
__ Harvest Hoe Down (early October evening)
__ Auction (October evening): set up clean up, decorate…lots of opportunities
__ Family Science Night (November evening)
__ Family Math Night (March evening)
__ Heritage Dinner (March evening)
__ Inquiry Fair Parent’s Reception (April evening)
