Addison volunteers at the Family Giving Tree Warehouse

Monday, December 14, 2015 - 3:23pm

Our holiday gift drive with the Family Giving Tree was a great success! Over the past 3 weeks, families have been picking out gift tags at Addison's front office, purchasing the item requested on the gift tag, and returning them to be delivered to needy families throughout the Bay Area. Out of approximately 120 gift tags distributed at Addison's front office, 105 were returned. That is 105 children who will receive the holiday present of their dreams! According to the Family Giving Tree, the average tag return rate is 60%, so that is a phenomenal return rate.

Our community's spirit of generosity continued to shine over the weekend, when a dozen Addison families gathered at the Family Giving Tree warehouse in Milpitas to check and sort through hundreds of presents. Kids and grownups alike worked hard for 3 hours to ensure that every child on the Family Giving Tree's list will receive exactly what they asked for.

To the Addison kids (and their families) who were present - Kenji, Isabella, Sofia, Natasha, Malcolm, Cameron, Kayley, Emilie, Willow, Evin, Silas, Elise, Maya, Avery, and Mac - You did a great job! Thank you also to Addison staff and teachers Mrs. Ganschow, Mrs. Kageyama, Mirvat Robinson, and Ana Picazo!  We look forward to participating in next year's Family Giving Tree holiday wish drive program.
